My unfinished series

I don’t know about all of you but personally, I am horrible at finishing series. The reason is that I have a tendency to wait too long to pick up the next book and feel like I need to reread the entire thing in order to continue. Then there are the series that I really want to read but never seem to get around to, either because they are so incredibly long or because there are some other book I would rather read. This has led to there being quite a few completed series that I have yet to finish and I figured I would share them with you and see if anyone else has this problem! 🙂

The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra clarePictures20.jpgI read the first three book about five years ago and have been meaning to complete the series for years now. I have recently started book four so I will hopefully be caught up on this series soon.

The winner’s trilogy by Marie RutkoskiPictures21.jpgI read the first book in this series when it came out and absolutely loved it! Then I waited so long to read the second book that I now feel like I need to reread the first book and I just don’t have the time.

Rebel Belle trilogy by Rachel HawkinsPictures22.jpgI have not yet started this series and I honestly have no idea why! I absolutely loved the hex hall series and was so, so eager to read Rebel Belle when it came out, and yet here I am two years later and I still haven’t read it.

Percy Jacson and the Olympians series by Rick RiordanPictures23.jpgThis is one of my more shameful ones, because you know Percy Jackson is popular and well known. I did read the first book and then for some reason I just never picked up the second one. I swear I will soon though!

Wicked Lovely series by Melissa MaarPictures24.jpgI have a complicated relationship with this series. I have read book one and half of book two three times. It’s like I have this block in my mind that somehow activates halfway through book two, making me put it down for so long that I have to start all over again. I hope that next time I will get through the entire series.

Red Rising trilogy by Pierce BrownPictures25.jpgI just read book one in this trilogy and loved it. I have no idea why it has taken me so long to pick this trilogy up because it is amazing. Actually, I do know why… I was convinced that I would not like it, silly me!

The Raven Cycle quartet by Maggie StiefvaterPictures26.jpgI have heard so many amazing things about this series and people are constantly telling me to read it so I will read them this year!

There are probably more series I haven’t read yet but at this moment I can’t think of any. I would love to know which series you have yet to complete so coment and let me know or if you have a similar post leave a link so I can check it out. 🙂

    Out of all these I’ve read the entire Mortal Instruments and Percy Jackson series. They’re two of my favorites! 😍 I’ve also read the first book in The Raven Cycle but I wasn’t a fan. 😁 I hope you enjoy all of these when you get to them! 🙂

    I can happily say that I made it through the Wickedly Lovely series – although it was a while ago so I don’t remember lots. HOWEVER, I do remember it getting progressively better.

    I never really thought of myself as bad at finishing series until the Internet brought it to my attention, but I can’t bring myself to feel too bad about it either. I used to hate reading a series all in one go because then I couldn’t remember what book was what, but recently I’ve started getting into just marathoning series (I think because that gives me an excuse to buy all the books in the series rather than one at a time, let’s be honest). A series I really need to finish is Eragon, I don’t know why I haven’t finished it yet.

    I tend to be the same — I take FOREVER to finish a series once I’ve started. I usually convince myself that I don’t want to ‘read it too quickly, otherwise it’ll be over’. But I did manage to complete The Mortal Instruments and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I think I read the first two Wicked Lovely books YEARS AND YEARS AGO, and have never finished it. Oops.

    I have only read the first two books in TMI series. I thought the second book dragged on a bit and then other books struck my interest so I haven’t gotten back into the series. I do have the third book sitting on my shelf. It’s the same for the Percy Jackson series. I just get worried about what happens to characters or upset with how they change and never finish a series.

    I haven’t finished The Mortal Instruments or The Raven Cycle series either! I wasn’t too sure how I felt about the first TMI book, but I’m going to try the next one out eventually. I love TRC and am not sure why I’ve put it off for so long! I am reading The Dream Thieves currently though and hope to finish the rest of the series in time for the new book!

    All these other series are on my TBR – except Percy Jackson which I devoured in like a week because I loved it so much. I’m hoping to read The Winners series soon-ish because I’ve been hearing SO much about it lately.
