Most anticipated January Releases

Hey, look at me finally writing a blog post again, haha! I just had a sudden burst of inspiration, right now, as I’m typing this, to share my most anticipated reads of January with the world, and because it would be hard to do it on Instagram, I was like; “why not use that blog you have?” So here I am posting and stuff! πŸ˜€

Anyways I will stop babbling now and get to the point of this entire post, a list of all the amazing books coming out in January that I am dying to get my hands on. Fair warning though, it’s a looooong list!

1. The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1)

Three reasons I’m excited:

1: Holly Black is one of my favourite authors and I absolutely love her writing.

2: It’s about fairies and royalty, which are some of my favourite things to read about.

3: It has gotten such good reviews from those lucky bastards people who got their hands on ARCs, which seems promising.

 

2. Everless by Sara Holland

Three reasons I’m excited:

1: It takes place in a world where time is used as currency and also determines how long you live, which just sounds fantastic! Actually, it sounds horrible but in a way that makes me excited to read the book! πŸ˜€

2: Not going to lie here the gorgeous cover is definitely part of why I want to read this!

3: It’s ya fantasy aka my favourite genre so…

3. Gunslinger Girl by Lyndsay Ely

Three reasons I’m excited:

1: Okay fine the main reason I want this is the cover. I mean look at it! It’s stunning and will look great in my insta photos!

2: I’ve been digging YA western books lately soo I feel like I’ll like this one.

3: The tagline says; the heroine is a cross between Katniss Everdeen and Annie Oakley which you know sounds awesome!

4. Meet cute by a bunch of authors

1: I absolutely love anthologies.

2: some of my favourite authors like Nicola Yoon and Jennifer L. armentrout have stories in it.

3: I’ve always loved meet cute moments.

 

 

5. Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu

1: I love batman.

2: It’s written by Marie Lu and she’s an amazing author so I just know it’s going to be good!

3: I’m a sucker for anything involving superheroes and origin type stories.

 

6. Before I let go by Marieke Nijkamp

Three reasons I’m excited:

1: I’ve never read a book that takes place in Alaska before so I’m really excited to do so.

2: I really enjoy YA thrillers and this one sounds like a good one.

3: the cover really drew me in. It just looks so mysterious and icy and I feel like I kinda have to read it.

7. Unearthed by Amy Kaufman and Megan Spooner

Three reasons I’m excited:

1: It’s being pitched as “Indiana Jones in space” Which I’m totally here for because it sounds awesome!

2: Sci fi is quickly becoming one of my favourite genres so naturally I just want to read all the things!

3: I love both of the authors and trust them to write good stuff.

8. Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman

Three reasons I’m excited:

1: I LOOVED the first book (scythe) soo much.

2: I really have no idea where the story is going to go and I’m so excited to find out.

3: The cover is just perfection and I have so many photo ideas for it! πŸ˜€

 

 

9. Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson

Truly Devious (Truly Devious, #1)Release date: January 16th 2018.

Three reasons I’m excited:

1: It takes place at a boarding school, which is one of my favourite settings to read about.

2: the tagline says “perfect for fans of Agatha Christie and E. Lockhart” and since I’m a fan of both I’m guessing I’ll like it.

3: It apparently jumps between two time periods and I generally tend to enjoy stories like that.

10. Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh

Reign of the FallenRelease date: January 23rd 2018.

Three reasons I’m excited:

1: this book is about a necromancer and I don’t think I’ve ever read a necromancy book I didn’t love so I feel like I’ll love this one too.

2: There are apparently some great diversity and LGTBQ+ rep in this book, which is always nice to see.

3: It apparently has lots of magic, monsters and female friendships, which sounds perfect!

 

11. Let’s talk about Love by Claire Kann.

1: It’s about an asexual girl and I’ve never actually read a book about an asexual character before.

2: It sounds like it’s going to be a really cute, fun read.

3: The cover just makes me smile.

 

12. The hazel Wood by Melissa Albert

1: Characters from a book turning out to be real sounds amazing!

2: There is a creepy magical estate, which I totally love.

3. It just sounds like a dark, twisty and magical read that I need in my life.

 

13. Reign the Earth by A.C. Gaughen.
